Catechesis of the Good Shepherd
St. Francis of Assisi Parish offers the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd faith formation program for Ages 3 years-Grade 8. As the primary catechists, parents play a significant role of establishing the foundation of a child's spiritual development. Our mission is to enhance your efforts in your child's faith formation at home, in the classroom and the parish community.
All Catholic children, who do not attend a Catholic grade school, are required to attend religious education classes from Grade K-8. It is through these classes that they grow in their understanding of our Catholic faith and most importantly develop a relationship with the God who loves them passionately. CCD classes are held at St. Anthony Church with wonderful dedicated catechists. Classes begin in September and run through April.
SACRAMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
TWO consecutive, well-attended (less than four absences) years of catechesis are required for the reception of the Sacraments in the Diocese of Youngstown.
Attendance at all sacramental preparation events is mandatory. If there is a conflict the Coordinator of Religious Education must be contacted in advance so that alternative plans can be made.
